Research method / Edition 01

Useful evidence.
Visible limits.

What this index includes, how the notes were written and what this edition does not claim.

Scope and date

This edition indexes 107 sources across 13 fields. Searches and source-record checks were performed on 8 October 2026. It includes foundational studies and 2026 publications and resources located during that review.

This is a curated scoping index, not a systematic review or a complete inventory of all current research. The library is a dated snapshot. External search tools retrieve current provider results; they do not automatically update the catalog.

Selection

We prioritized original research, original-provider datasets and software, standards, and government guidance. Reviews and perspectives are labeled. A sponsor-hosted natural organic reduction pilot is labeled as a provider report.

Coverage follows Death X’s proposed programs: genomic preservation, synthetic yeast, molecular storage, decomposition, biobanking, neuroscience, digital archives, soil, marine restoration, consent, biosafety and disposition law. Legal coverage is selected US federal, DC and Washington material, not a fifty-state survey.

What a source check means

We checked primary-source pages or bibliographic records for relevance, titles and available descriptive information. This was not a full-text appraisal of every method, dataset or result. Some publishers restrict access. A link in the index does not imply successful reproduction or independent validation.

Publication year is shown when established. “Resource” indicates a maintained page without a single publication year. The indexing date is not a paper’s publication date.

The evidence notes

Each record contains a short original summary, a limitation, a source type and its connection to a research field. Product-level judgments in the evidence map are Death X editorial assessments, distinct from the findings of the linked authors.

“No demonstration located” describes this review’s findings. It is not proof of impossibility, and it does not claim that every publication has been examined.

Rights, access and attribution

We link to original publications and providers rather than reproduce articles or redistribute research datasets. Original material remains subject to its own copyright, license and access rules. Links to researchers and institutions do not imply a partnership or endorsement.

Updating the index

Future editions should repeat the field queries, deduplicate by DOI and canonical URL, check corrections and retractions, label preprints, and review any change to a product claim. New additions should retain their source and check date. Negative and contradictory results belong in the catalog.

No recurring update process is connected in this edition. Use the search builder to explore newer records.
